    Alanna Marshall

    Alanna Marshall joined Manitou in 2016 as Director of Investment Management and Research. Alanna’s primary responsibility is to coordinate and monitor progress of Manitou’s research priorities, while also contributing to specific company research and portfolio management of the firms various mandates.  Prior to joining Manitou, Alanna spent 20 years at Sprucegrove Investment Management serving in a variety of roles of increasing responsibility; most recently as Director of Research and Portfolio Manager. Alanna graduated from the University of Western Ontario with an Honours Bachelor of Arts, followed by a Masters of International Management (Finance) from Thunderbird School of Global Management (Arizona). Alanna also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

  • Bryce C. Douglas

    Bryce C. Douglas

    Bryce C. Douglas joined Manitou in 2013 and is Vice-President of Client Service. He has been in financial services for 22 years in both New York and Toronto. Most recently, he was a partner at Genuity Capital Markets where he helped found the New York office and build the US sales and trading operation. Prior to that, he held several roles at TD Newcrest, the last of which was Managing Director in institutional equities. Bryce attended McGill University, studying economics and has held several securities licenses, including the US Series 24, Series 55, Series 7 and Series 63, as well as the Partners, Directors and Officers in Canada.

  • David A. Williams

    David A. Williams

    David A. Williams joined Manitou in 2011 as Senior Counsel and is a Vice-President and Investment Counsellor. He has served as president of his Toronto-based investment company, Roxborough Holdings Limited since 1995. David is a former President of Beutel Goodman, one of Canada’s largest institutional money managers, where he held senior Management positions between 1969 and 1994. He also has extensive board experience, currently serving as a director of Western Copper and Gold Corporation, David is involved with a number of community-related projects and is a director of Bishop’s University Foundation. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business from Bishop’s University and a Master of Business Administration from Queen’s University. He is the recipient of an Honorary Doctorate of Civil Laws from Bishop’s University.

  • Dean Prodan

    Dean Prodan

    Dean Prodan joined Manitou as a consultant in January 2017. He is the CFO and Director of Whitehorn Resources Ltd. and Portfolio Manager for Priviti Capital Corp. Previously, Dean was the President and sole owner of UTA Asset Management, that acted as Sub-advisor for Dynamic Mutual Funds. Dean currently serves as Chair of the Board for Cool It Systems Inc., and is on the Boards of Whitewater Ski Resort Ltd., Jowidana Hotels Ltd. and Chatter Creek Mountain Lodges Ltd. He is also Board Chair of the Calgary Arts Development Authority, a Director of The Palix Foundation, Director of the Calgary Stampede Foundation, on the Investment Committee for the Max Bell Foundation, a member of the Alberta Regional Board of the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) as well a member its Investment Committee.

    Debbie O'Reilly

    Debbie O’Reilly serves as Manitou’s Chief Financial and Chief Compliance Officer and Corporate Secretary. Debbie is also an Investment Counselor working with clients to customize portfolios that reflect both their return objectives and risk tolerance levels. Before joining Manitou in 2001, Debbie served as Chief Financial Officer of Financial Concepts Group and Chief Operating Officer of 20/20 Funds. Debbie is a Chartered Professional Accountant, CA and a graduate of the University 0f Toronto.

    James Meadows

    James A. Meadows joined Manitou in 2015 and is Manitou’s Executive Vice-President of Operations. He began his career at Ernst & Young LLP in 1996 and qualified as a Chartered Professional Accountant, CA in 1999. He spent 8 years at Burgundy Asset Management Ltd. where he focused on operations, compliance and fund accounting including serving as Vice President, responsible for the Canadian operations. James spent 4 years at AGF Investment Inc. as Vice President of Investment Administration conducting investment management analytics, quality assurance and best practices. James received his Honours Business Administration degree from the Richard Ivey Business School at the University of Western Ontario. He currently sits on the Board at United Way Toronto and York Region and is a member of the audit committee for the Gardiner Museum of Ceramic Art.

  • John R. Platt

    John R. Platt

    John Platt joined Manitou in 2016 and is a Vice-President and Investment Counsellor. Prior to joining Manitou he was a principal at HighView Financial Group for eight years and prior to that John held a senior management position in BMO Nesbitt Burns’ Private Client Group. John is a graduate of the University of Toronto and Dalhousie University and has been a board member of several charitable organizations including Appleby College, The Oakville Hospital Foundation, The Oakville Community Foundation and Knox Heritage Place, a not-for-profit senior’s residence in north Oakville. He currently serves as a Trustee of the Appleby College Foundation, (serving on its Investment Committee), a Board member of the Canadian Foundation for Economic Education (CFEE), is a member of the Audit and Finance Committee of Lighthouse, a charity focused on the counselling of bereaved children and is on the Stewardship Committee of the Oakville Hospital Foundation. John is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIFTM) and holds the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation.

    Kathy Moodie

    Kathy Moodie joined Manitou in 2001 and is Vice-President of Client Serviice and Administration. Kathy also assists clients with all administrative matters relating to their accounts. Prior to Manitou, she was manager of sales at Maxxum Financial Corporation. A graduate of Queen’s University with a degree in mathematics and economics, Kathy is also a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and has obtained the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) and Personal Financial Planner (PFP) designations.

    Linda Pinheiro

    Linda Pinheiro joined Manitou in 2013 and serves as Manager of Client Services and Administration. She is a key member of Manitou’s client team, coordinating all forms of client reporting—from written quarterly reviews to our website. Prior to joining Manitou, Linda ran the office of a professional practice. She is a graduate of Ryerson University, holding a Bachelor of Technology in Architectural Science, Project Management.

  • Mark Gaskin

    Mark Gaskin

    Mark Gaskin joined Manitou in 2009 serves as President and Chairman of Manitou, and supports the firm’s research and portfolio management activities. He co-founded Cranston, Gaskin, O’Reilly & Vernon Investment Counsel in 1995 retiring in July 2008. Prior to CGOV, Mark spent five years as a partner and vice-president of Beutel, Goodman & Company. Mark is a graduate of the University of Toronto and has been a board member and trustee of several charitable organizations and private companies including Branksome Hall, The Appleby College Foundation, the Canadian Diabetes Association and Canadian General Tower Limited. He presently serves on the Advisory Board of Consolidated Energy Solutions Inc. and the Board of Governors of Appleby College.
